Finance and Accounts Associate

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising professional (for the position of Finance and Accounts Associate) who will assist the Director, Administration and Finance.

key functions and responsibilities will include:

  • Process payment efficiently and keep vouchers in safe custody
  • Work independently for maintaining books of accounts through computerized accounting software
  • Prepare budget with justification notes and budget variance analysis with justification notes
  • Work independently for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annually financial statements
  • Prepare FD6 and relevant documents for submission to NGO Affairs Bureau and relevant Government Offices to obtain project approval and clearance of funds
  • Liaise with external auditor for finalisation of audit reports
  • Prepare independently tax and VAT returns and submit to the NBR
  • Maintain and manage petty cash
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

The applicant should be highly motivated and committed and must be capable of displaying learning ability and a capacity to work effectively as a team player.

Required Qualification:

  • Masters degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputed university. A minimum CGPA of 3.50 is required, which can be relaxed in case of candidates having relevant job experience.
  • Partly qualified accounting professionals of recognized accounting body (CA/ CIMA/ CMA) are preferred
  • Minimum 2 yearsb experience with focus on financial management and accounting in NGOs
  • Proficient in MS Excel and excellent working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, etc.
  • A good written and oral communication skill both in English and Bangla.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities

A gross salary starting from Taka 30,000 per month for the Finance and Accounts Associate position will be offered to successful candidates, along with other admissible benefits. Actual compensation package will be offered based on assessment of the candidatebs qualifications, suitability and experience.

Internship at CPD

Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) will recruit a couple of Interns who are interested to pursue a research and communication oriented career in the development sector. CPD internship will provide an Intern with an excellent environment to interact closely within a globally reputed think-tank and to gain first-hand exposure to frontier developmental issues as well as critical development policy challenges facing the country, region and the world. CPD will involve the Interns in its ongoing research and outreach programmes, where they will be required to provide supervised research and communication inputs. The internship also provides opportunities to participate in various in-house, national and international events organised by CPD on a regular basis. Interns, based on their demonstrated performance, are considered for a career at CPD.

Requirements: The candidate would need to have a Masters degree in Economics or Development Studies with at least three first classes or CGPA of at least 3.60. Those awaiting Masters result may also apply. Drafting, computer and social skills are must. Should be ready to work under pressure in delivering outputs.
